Evolution of Bourbon Introduction

Welcome to the Evolution of Bourbon!

This is a 5 part video series about of how Bourbon became what it is today, or as we like to call it, The Evolution of Bourbon. Each video tells a story about a particular time period and what people were drinking during that time period. Make sure you check out the end of each video, when you’ll hear a song either from the time period itself, or about the time period. Check out the note below from our National Bourbon Brand Ambassador, Bernie Lubbers, about what you’ll experience throughout this video series.

The Evolution of Bourbon allows you to see, feel, hear, smell and taste just how bourbon evolved from un-aged Corn Whiskey in the 1700’s, to aged Corn Whiskey in the early 1800’s to Wheat Whiskey in the mid 1800’s. Bourbon made a big stride in 1897 with the Bottled-In-Bond Act of 1897. After Bourbon and Rye Whiskeys went out of favor in the latter half of the 20th century, it was the Small Batch and Single Barrel Bourbons that created this new Golden Age of Bourbon and American Whiskey that we are still experiencing today.

It’s like a Ken Burns documentary on Bourbon brought to life. Hope you enjoy!
