Heaven Hill Honored At Kentucky Bourbon Festival
The 27th annual Kentucky Bourbon Festival (KBF) took place this month in Bardstown, Kentucky, and we were honored to participate in several events with the 50,000 visitors who gathered in the Bourbon Capital of the World for a week of celebration.
We’ve been privileged to be part of the festival since its start, and this year we participated in several events, including the window display contest, the All-Star Sampler, and the Bourbon Barrel Rolling Relay.
On Friday we watched President Max Shapira get inducted into the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame and receive the prestigious Parker Beam Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was named after our legendary Master Distiller Emeritus Parker Beam, who was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in 2013 and was the first recipient of the award.
In KBF’s World Championship Bourbon Barrel Rolling Relay, comprised of industry competitors who go barrel-to-barrel showcasing distillery employees with the quickest and most efficient barrel-rolling skills, Heaven Hill’s women’s team came in first place, clocking a record score of -11.3 seconds.
The ladies also took home first and third place in the individual women’s relay. The men’s team placed second among 10 other distilleries with a final time of -45.7 and proceeded to win both first and second place spots in the men’s individual relay.
We also had the honor again to sponsor the reputable Bourbon, Cigars & Jazz event, where Bourbon aficionados reveled in a night of sipping on select Heaven Hill Bourbons and jamming to jazz music.
Additionally, we also sponsored the festival’s signature event — the Tasting & Gala — where guests sampled the finest Bourbons and engaged with Master Distillers and notable industry Ambassadors.
Heaven Hill sure left its mark on this year’s festival with A-list events, awards, entertainment, and of course, high-quality and sophisticated Bourbon.
We can’t wait to do it again in 2019!
